Myrtle Beach...all opinions appreciated

Myrtle Beach..looking to go there (or nearly any beach but I'll say Myrtle). Probably end up going by myself, so looking for something affordable naturally. I want something ocean front, I mean I want to open my door and see/hear/smell ocean *lol* Also be nice to be in decent closeness to food and bars and what not. (Something in the hotel wouldn't be bad).

Anybody that knows any good ones to check into, advise me. If you know another beach that might not just be completely quiet and such (hey I'm a single guy, some stuff to do, and some single women being there isn't a bad thing), please suggest.

Also and this isn't so much for now or later, if you have any links of any places that rent beach houses, preferably smaller, please let me know that as well.

The Crown Reef in south myrtle is a nice place...I think it has it's own website...that is the best one I can think of

Me and some of my graduating buddies went to the Polynesian after we graduated, only because of the price. THe rooms were clean, but the halls and whatnot sure weren't, but if you can deal with that, not a bad place as long as it ain't senior week, gets crazy over there. But im sure you can probably find some better deals than that place

I'll look at it, truthfully I just need opinions on good/bad, links of places, whatever. I haven't been to the beach in a long time and needing a trip bad and if I can't persuade someone to go, I'll by myself and find someone there *lol*

Myrtle Beach Resort isn't all that bad. I don't know if they still do this or not, but in summer of '02, my family went there, the first week in August you could stay the whole week for like $400.

i have been to myrtle, virginia beach, and hilton head. my fav. is hh. in hh, they have several resorts. whether it be the westin or holiday inn they all nice. in hh, it is more of a relaxing place for vacation. most hotels r close to the beach but u have to walk to get there. they r located in a resoprt type ploace and r private. the resorts r about 100 yds. away from the beach. no go carts there only putt-putts. they have harbor town, which is a place w/ shops and nice places to eat. several golf courses. and down in seapines, which is a small area in hh, it has beach houses and villas.
in va beach is the middle man of the three. va beach is somewhat like myrtle. the hotels there r so close to the beach. its walk to the pool and then 10 feet more and ur on the beach lol.

I go every year sometimes twice a year...We stayed at the Windsurfer this year and it was ok but alittle pricey during June or shall I say Senior week...What time are you going or thinking about going I have stayed in probably 30 hotels or more their since I was little I may be able to help somewhat? Also what kinda price range are you looking at?

From who has taken place, vactions wise, i work with North Myrtle as the best. Anything south to stormy or sharky.
